EPIK handles most of the public school jobs across all of Korea - and you must apply 4-6 months before the Sept and March start dates.
The ESL job market in China has been surging the last few years, and may be surpassing Korea for most sought after destination these days. Public schools in Shenzhen seem to be the most popular with our teachers.
Most schools (in Korea) prefer single white females from N. America. This is not a TEK policy, but what many schools ask for.
It is becoming more challenging to find couple-jobs - in Korea only. Schools in China love hiring friends or couples!

We are aware of the horror stories out there about unreliable hogwans. This is why we started our company, and are here to help. In 2016, about 250 of our 300 teachers to Korea went to hogwans and we're confident the vast majority of them would recommend TEK to their friends. Also, the Korean government has really cleaned up the shady hogwans even before they can hire a native teacher, and protecting teachers by the court of law, should something go wrong. The government has equally increased its regulation of teachers by requiring crc's, health checks and proof of regulated teachers more over the last 5 yrs.
SR's and schools view our database profiles of all of our Active Job Hunt teachers, and request interviews for 1-3 teachers they like.
After the interview, they will offer a contract to the teacher they liked the best. Be ready to act swiftly!
