Dan Henrickson (Head TR and Co-owner of Teach ESL Korea): Was tired of working 60+ hour weeks in Canada and knew there was more to life than this. After a few years of watching his closest friends experience what Korea has to offer, Dan convinced his amazing wife Aggie to embark on an adventure of a lifetime…with their 8-month-old son, Jordan! They spent almost 2 years teaching in a variety of settings and thoroughly loving the Korean culture, food and people. They even went back for 6 months in 2011 with Jordan (now 8) and Benji (4) to enjoy it once again. Dan has been a tireless worker for teachers for the last 6 years and can’t imagine doing anything else.
Aggie Henrickson (Visa Rep – VR, and Co-owner of Teach ESL Korea): Not only is Aggie a sounding board for all of Dan’s (sometimes crazy) ideas, she also plays a vital role in the daily operations of Teach ESL Korea. She currently takes care of each and every teacher from the moment their job is confirmed, through the entire E2 visa process, until they land in Korea. We constantly hear teachers singing Aggie’s praise saying they don’t know how they would’ve ever smoothly completed the complicated E2 visa process without her support.
Teacher Reps: TR’s – these are our team members who are the first point of contact for applicants. When you apply, you will be sorted to Dan, or one of our other TR’s. They are in charge of your file. They will walk you through the required documents, while also helping you understand the Korean ESL job market. You should cc your TR on every email to any SR’s who email you a job idea!!!
Kari Holman – has been a highly respected TR for almost 1.5 years. Her teachers absolutely love her personal emails with detailed info, and quick reply times. We have a stack of testimonials from her teachers praising her work! She stays in great contact with teachers once they are in Korea to see how they are doing. Kari has also expanded her role with TEK, to include several managerial level and company development initiatives.
School reps: SR’s – these are our Korean partners, who each have a network of schools they work with in Korea. So, when you deal with Teach ESL Korea you essentially have a full team of recruiters trying to help you!!!
Jane and Scott – they have been partners with Teach ESL Korea for around 6 years. They are our GEPIK partner, and most of their signed teachers are placed within GEPIK. Schools love dealing with Scott because he possibly the hardest working person we know and they love the high quality teachers we provide! Scott will usually send initial job info by email, but we find it’s easiest and quickest if you remain in contact with him via Skype or his cell since he is often buried in emails. Jane works with the GEPIK Head Office, as well as receiving all documents from teachers for their E2 visa process. She arranges your pick-up at the airport, and is our main contact should anything not be going right at one of their schools.
Thomas – All SR’s have their strengths and we’re confident when we say Thomas is our most professional partner in Korea. He speaks excellent English, understands the recruiting and ESL market in Korea very well, and understands how to explain to teachers so they understand. He always seems to have close relationships with his schools so we trust him very much. Most of his schools are in the SE corner of Korea, near Geoje, Ulsan, Changwon, etc, but he now has a nice network of schools across the country.
Julice – She focuses most of her energy on schools in the Gwangju area. She has been recruiting for 12 years in this market so she’s very well respected and sought after, by schools. She has very reliable schools that she has often worked with for many years. Her emails are clean and to the point and things run smoothly with her.
Roy / Jay – They have a wide network of a variety of schools, all across Korea. Roy has been in the industry for 7 years and knows how to work closely with schools.
Paul – He has been a trusted partner of Teach ESL Korea for more than 5 years. We have a really nice working relationship since he also cares for the well-being of our teachers, rather than just collecting a fee at the end. He has jobs across the entire country and you can always email with a current teacher in advance before deciding on one of his jobs.
Sky – She is our newest SR to our team, but she has completely impressed us with her very high level of professionalism, organization (not always a strong point in Korea) and attention to detail. She has a great selection of schools inside Seoul and the surrounding area, as well as in Daejeon where she lives
